When I used to live here I would come get pleasure pizza all the time. Cheesy Tuesdays were the best!!! I was back in town for the day taking my boyfriend to go on a great white shark tour. When were done we were hungry so I suggested we go to Pleasure Pizza. He had never been, he always chose Pizza my Heart, I was in disbelief. Whenever I had to choose between the two I always went for pleasure pizza. I love the crust so much. It's thicker and more delicious here, but that's just my preference. It's a popular destination to choose for pizza in the area and there was a wait out the door. When we finally got to the front the girl at the counter was so sweet and nice. Always smiling. This time around though the crust was a little over done for my liking. Instead of it being this nice doughy crust with the right amount of chew it was a little too dark and crispy for me. But still it was delicious as I remember it.

Wow this place was absolutely a disaster of a experience.  1 hour 20 minutes for a 14inch pizza.  It seems my order was never made!?!

About 40 minutes after I ordered I asked the lady in the front that took my order and everyone else's order what the status on my pie was,she assured me that my pizza was in the oven and would be out in a few minutes.
Come 25 minutes later they seem to have lost my pizza!?!  WTF?   Then the lady made it seem like if I had ordered a different pizza and that is why the pizza I ordered wasn't made.  Well if that was the case where was the pizza I supposedly had ordered??  Then after no apology she then said, "well we can make you a new one, you're just going to have to wait!"  I declined.  And asked for a refund.

Long story short one of the managers I assume came and apologized and offered to give me a pizza of my choice on the house. I honestly am very thankful for this man's customer service and the rest of the staff should take notes.

    As far as the establishment:

Place is small a few tables inside and outside and it goes from not busy to waves of people that love to block the entrance because Pleasure Pizza decided that it would be a good idea to take orders at the door.  I'm sure you can imagine how annoying this can get when your trying get to your table.

I get people make mistakes, lord knows I've made a ton. But overall my experience here was not what I would have wanted it to be.  Pizza wasn't worth the wait even if they had got it right.  I WILL NOT COME BACK!  This was not pleasure!  More like agony.

Yesterday, to celebrate my birthday, I ordered 2 pizzas for a family party. One pepperoni one Abyss. We were told they'd be ready in 25-30 minutes. I arrived there in 20 minutes, paid for the order but the pizzas hadn't even been started yet. It wasn't busy, so I didn't understand why. After another 20 minutes of waiting, I asked about the pizzas. I was told the Abyss was made but they forgot to add the shrimp (it only has two ingredients, pesto and shrimp) so the we're going to fix it. I waited ANOTHER 20 minutes and finally was handed two pizza boxes.
When I got home, the So called Abyss was some weird inedible concoction.  The dough was not fully cooked. The pizza had red sauce, onions, chicken and cheese with some pesto and flavorless shrimp tossed on top. WTF? Raw pizza? Bizarre order?
We waited an HOUR to get this inedible garbage. And it was EXPENSIVE. And by screwing up my order it meant that the two vegetarians I was celebrating my birthday with had nothing to eat!
Thanks Pleasure Pizza for spoiling my birthday. I'll always remember you for that.
You know, you're not the only pizza place in town.

I have been buying pleasure pizza for years, the quality of the food is great and always consistently delicious. However recently the new cashier has been getting on my nerves, she is abrasive, rude, condescending and clearly could care less about her job. She yells and acts impersonal with her customers. It is obvious she doesn't care.
She is so awful that I can't keep coming to buy pizza from here.

My student (who was telling me the best places to eat at in Santa Cruz) was right: the slices here are HUGE! And, they're cheap (depending on which topping you get, it can range from $3.50 to $5). For $18, three adults were able to leave feeling full. That means something!

They have quite a lot of types of pizza topping combinations to choose from. However, the only pizza topping combos available for single slices are the ones they happen to have on display in their
windows:( Otherwise, you have to order a whole pizza for them to customize it for you (or in other words, for them to bake you a pizza on their extensive menu). Since we were starving and not particularly picky, we went for whatever was on display (one slice of each):
-Sweet Hawaiian: Your typical Hawaiian (was OK)
-Pesto: My favorite (tons of pesto and super cheesy and oily...yum)
-Combination (SOLID. Many veggies as well as meat pieces)
-Their Daily Special (Pesto+Sausage+Prosciutto)=WAY too salty, but my sister liked it...preference??

I really liked the vibe of the place: surf vintage (old, colorful soul).

The girl at the front was helpful and efficient.

Parking was a little difficult to find.
